Networking

It's arguable that nothing has had a greater impact on modern business than the personal computer, and nothing has had a more profound impact on the computer than networking. Computer networks allow the user to access remote programs and remote databases either of the same organization or from other enterprises or public sources. Computer networks provide communication possibilities faster than other facilities.Networking products can be broadly divided in to 2 sections
a) Active Network Components:
Active components are the backbone of the entire network. Having the right active networking components at the right place gives the entire network the stability to run efficiently. Active components consist of different kind of Switches (managed, unmanaged, layer 2 layer 3 etc.), routers, WIFI devices etc.

IT Security And Surveillance
IT Security and Surveillance is the protection of data, programs and Assets from physical circumstances and events that could cause serious losses or damage to an enterprise, agency, or institution.
The vast majority of computer surveillance involves the monitoring of data and traffic on the Internet. There is far too much data on the Internet for human investigators to manually search through all of it. So automated Internet surveillance computers sift through the vast amount of intercepted Internet traffic and identify and report to human investigators.
Data Security
Data security means detecting potential data breach / data ex-filtration transmissions and preventing them by monitoring, detecting and blocking sensitive data while in-use, in-motion, and at-rest.
At the most practical level, securing the information on your computer means, ensuring that your information remains confidential and only those who should access that information, can. In order to secure your data, we provide various Systems & Technologies such as Firewalls, Unified threat management (UTM) or unified security management (USM), Data loss prevention software’s etc…

Physical Security
We've talked about firewalls, intrusion detection systems, security software, and so on. But the physical side of security is often just as important, if not more. All the firewalls in the world won't help you if your server is hosted on premises, inside some closet where any customer or employee can go in, pick it up, and walk out the door. That's why things like locks, biometric scanners, and cameras are important.
Physical security describes security measures that are designed to deny unauthorized access to facilities, equipment and resources, and to protect personnel and property from damage or harm (such as espionage, theft, or attacks). Physical security involves the use of multiple layers of interdependent systems which include CCTV surveillance, protective barriers, locks, access control protocols, and many other techniques.
We at Benchmark, evaluate the range of products from different manufacturers, test the compatibility with other devices & then offer the products to our Customers. We also provide CCTV’s systems, DVR, Analog and IP cameras, Electronic / Magnetic Locks, , Access Controls systems, , Fire detectors etc.

Printing / Scanning / Multifunction Devices
In any work environment utilizing computer systems, printers and scanners play a vital role. These utilities provide the services of enabling to get hard copies (printer) and scan any hardcopy format entity into a softcopy format into the computer system (scanner). When you want to buy a new printer/plotting/scanning device, you have some decisions to make.
Following are some points need to be considered for decision making:
- Colour / Monochrome
- Network or USB, Technology (laser / inkjet ..)
- Resolution (DPI – dots per inch)
- Speed (PPM – pages per minute)
- Type (standalone or multifunction - Print /scan/copy)
- Paper feed (flatbed or roller)
- Paper size (a4 / a3 /a0)
- Cost of device, maintenance cost, Cost per page, Cost of Ink , refill etc.

Storage / Backup Devices
A storage or backup device is any computing hardware that is used for storing or backing up data. It can hold and store information both temporarily and permanently, and can be internal or external to a computer, server or any similar computing device. Type and Uses of Storage / backup Devices
External hard drives
This connects to your personal computer using either USB or Firewire connections. Those who download, upload and store large amounts of files know that a built-in hard drive is often insufficient to meet the needs of regular computer users and hence the need for external drives. One of the best things about external hard drives is that they are portable.
DAS
Also called direct attach storage, is digital storage that is attached directly to a computer or a server using either SAS or fibre channel connectivity. The primary benefits of DAS include simplicity and low cost. Server-based DAS storage can be the right answer for small enterprises that are running one or only a few servers.
NAS
A Network Attached Storage (NAS) device is a storage device connected to a network port that allows storage and retrieval of data from a centralised location for authorised network users and heterogeneous clients. A typical NAS is a completely self-contained appliance with its own operating system, storage and a management interface.
Tape Drive
A tape drive is a device that stores computer data on removable magnetic tape cartridge, especially for backup and archiving purposes. A benefit of a tape drive backup is that tapes have a large capacity for storing data and are very economical when compared to the cost of hard disk storage. A disadvantage is that tape drives store data sequentially, and the user can only access specific data by starting at the beginning and rolling through the tape until the desired data is located.
